Who I Am
I have been a student of meditation for over 30 years, and incorporate mindfulness into my work. I will use meditation as a tool so you can experience it in a way that is more engaging than if you were listening to an audio or doing it on your own. I have also engaged in various different spiritual practices and study throughout my adult life. I love holding space for other's spiritual inquiry/path - whatever it is. I have completed the Death Doula Training from The Inelda Institute and I have been in private practice as a psychotherapist since 2006.
Before my career as a psychotherapist, I was a licensed massage therapist and had both a private practice and worked for hospice home care.
I've been involved in music performance since I was child and I have insight into the high demands and perfectionism that can go along with being in the arts. I feel that in order to create art with depth, one must feel deeply. At times, it can be hard to hold those feelings. I can help with this.
Among other things, I feel most connected and at peace when I am writing, playing music, and being in nature. I understand intimately the power of connecting spiritual practice with creative outlets. I am called to this career because I have benefited from what I have learned from my teachers and mentors and I have a lot to offer.
I trained in EMDR, Body-Centered therapy, CBT, Gottman Technique, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique, The Enneagram and many other modalities that I use to help each of my clients in whatever unique way they need.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (ID #C2876) in the State of Oregon and I have earned a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and a member of the American Counseling Association as well as the Oregon Counseling Association.
